Take a measuring tape and place it around the circumference of the head, slightly the ears. 
      Typical Hat Sizes:
          Small = 20 3/4 to 22 inches
          Medium = 22 to 22 3/4 inches
          Large = 22 3/4 to 23 5/8
          X Large = over 23 5/8
